A message from our law firm about COVID-19
Dear Friends and Clients,
The safety of our clients, friends, attorneys, and staff, along with their families, is a top priority for our law firm. We also believe that during these difficult times, we all must do our part to end the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
As you all know, both the federal government and Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf have made strong recommendations to control the spread of COVID-19. These recommendations include limiting access to courts, as well as the closure of all workers' compensation hearing offices.
Workers' Compensation offices are working toward remote access and are developing plans for telephonic hearings. We continue to await additional instructions from the Bureau of Workers' Compensation, and they are updating their policies and procedures daily.
Social Security hearings are being held telephonically, with the right to postpone in the event a live hearing is requested in the future. Various federal, state, and administrative courts and agencies have all adopted their own policies for closure/delay, which we are following closely in order to keep cases moving through those systems as quickly as possible.
Until this crisis passes, our Scranton, Pittston and Towanda offices are closed to the public. Our staff continues to work, both in the office and remotely, while maintaining the recommended social distancing.
Though our offices are closed to the public, rest assured that our legal practice is very much open.
We are available to answer any questions our clients may have via phone and email. If you were scheduled to meet in-person with one of our attorneys or staff members over the next few weeks, they will be in contact with you soon to reschedule that meeting as a phone call, if they haven’t already done so.
We value the relationship we have with you. The attorneys and staff at O’Malley & Langan are here for you during these uncertain times.
Stay safe, stay healthy.
– Your attorneys and friends at O’Malley & Langan, P.C.
